Okay, we're bending the rules slightly here.
Because horror art doesn't stop with traditional paintings.
Modern horror culture has produced an enormous collection of visual art through movie posters, concept art, illustrations, album covers, comic books, and animation.
And few styles have had a bigger influence on modern horror aesthetics than gothic art.
From crumbling castles to skeletons, graveyards, bats, witches, and monstrous figures, gothic art has essentially provided horror culture with its wardrobe.
It's the artistic equivalent of putting everything in black and adding fog.
And we're absolutely here for it.
