8. Teeth (2007)
There are some horror concepts that make you immediately think:
“Oh, that's clever.”
And then there are concepts that make you say:
“Wait... seriously?”
Teeth belongs firmly in the second category.
The movie centers around a young woman who discovers that she possesses a rather unusual—and extremely dangerous—biological defense mechanism.
The film takes the concept of vagina dentata, or “toothed vagina,” and turns it into a horror-comedy about sexuality, fear, exploitation and revenge.
It is simultaneously absurd and surprisingly clever.
It's also probably one of the few movies where telling somebody “Don't worry, it's not that kind of horror movie” would be a spectacularly bad idea.
