Krampus: Christmas Has Teeth
Christmas movies usually give us Santa Claus, snow, presents, family reunions and enough warm fuzzy feelings to power a small town.
Krampus gives us a demonic goat man.
Much better.
The movie follows the Engel family as their Christmas spirit collapses amid family tension, frustration and holiday misery. Their loss of Christmas spirit ultimately brings something ancient and terrifying to their doorstep.
But once again, Dougherty understands that the holiday itself has to be part of the horror.
The Christmas lights are there.
The decorations are there.
The presents are there.
The snow is there.
The family is there.
And then the monsters arrive.
It's the perfect recipe for holiday horror.
Dougherty wrote, directed and co-producedKrampus, giving him an even more hands-on role in the production than he had on Trick 'r Treat.
