Greetings Horror Fans,
The Halloween season is nearly upon us (already began for us) and today AMC has officially announced this year's FearFest lineup! Plus it has also revealed the very special revamped host for the horror event, none other than the iconic The Crypt Keeper from Tales From The Crypt!
This year marks the 37th anniversary for our beloved 90's cult-classic series Tales From The Crypt but AMC has done something better. They have teamed up with legendary special effects artist Greg Nicotero (Creepshow, The Walking Dead, Guts & Glory) to revamp the new look for The Crypt Keeper plus they have also brought back John Kassir to voice our favorite cryptic pal once again. “What a great honor and privilege to re-create this iconic character and get a chance to revisit some of his clever quips and puns with John Kassir again reprising his role,” Nicotero shared in a statement. “Having the chance to re-create Kevin Yagher’s amazing puppet at my studio KNB EFX and get the opportunity to ‘direct him’ in a series of FearFest spots was like going back in time and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.”
“FearFest has long been one of AMC’s most beloved horror traditions, and we couldn’t be happier to resurrect the Crypt Keeper as this year’s master of ‘scary-monies’ as we celebrate 30 years of FearFest. Revived by Greg Nicotero, a master of special effects and genre storytelling, the Crypt Keeper will give fans a fresh and wickedly fun gateway into our incredible horror library,” stated Kim Granito, chief marketing officer for AMC Global Media. Aside from having The Crypt Keeper hosting segments during FearFest, AMC will also be running marathons of Tales From The Crypt episodes, along with marathon sets from some of our favorite slashers like Freddy, Jason, Chucky and of course Michael Myers. Other themed marathon sets have also been included in the lineup which I have provided for you below.
I don't know about you gals and ghouls, but I'm the type of classic ghoul that on certain nights I can just tune into FearFest and just put the remote away because I trust AMC to put on a great lineup for us to visually feast on.
